I have a tendency to try and cram as much as possible in each day. After awhile, a family member will remind me that God rested on the 7th day as an example--and then I get back to normal--for a while.
Although I was reading my Bible faithfully and keeping my time with God in my schedule, my days seemed to go so much better when I would get up and read His Word and spend time alone with God the first thing in the morning. I had a few acquaintances who would tell me about reading the horoscope in the newspaper or reading some almanac to know about the weather, or even people who went to a palm reader to find out about their future. I remember watching part of a movie where a girl would pick up a book and read the end to see if the book was good or not. That caught my attention.
Everybody was wanting to know the future, but didn't realize that they could know it, if they knew Christ. I also realized that when I woke up each morning and had God on my mind--the first thing--then my day would go so much better and I wouldn't be worried or stressed about it. That gave me the idea for the song; "when I wake up tomorrow and find you're the first thing on my mind, then I know how tomorrow's gonna be." I showed the song to Darla and she helped me with a few places and the last part that says "If I wake up tomorrow and find You're the last thing on my mind, then tomorrow will be a mystery."
